Additional Information

Jim O'Shaughnessy ’68, a Hall of Fame inductee for Men's Cross Country & Track and Field in 1994, was a pillar among the Northeastern University community for decades. He could always be seen at Parsons Field, Matthews Arena and the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center cheering on all Husky teams – no matter the sport. As the manager of the Northeastern Credit Union for 41 years, he never hesitated to help all members in need, and he treated everybody with the respect and the dignity they deserved. His family would like his legacy at Northeastern to be remembered in the form of an endowed fund to support general athletics priorities. This way, all current and future athletes can benefit from his kindness and his support, dedication, and love of Northeastern University.

The Jim O'Shaughnessy Athletics Enhancement Fund will be used at the discretion of the Director of Athletics and Recreation, or any successor thereof, to address emerging priorities within the Athletic Department. Disbursements will be made solely for purposes that directly support the university's mission and goals.
