The Breathe Lab focuses on investigating cellular interactions within airways—specifically cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix relationships—to elucidate the fundamental biological processes that control airway diameter and identify why these mechanisms malfunction in conditions such as asthma.

The College of Engineering dean (or successor) or their designated representative will manage this fund in partnership with the Breathe Lab's principal investigator (or successor) or their designee at Northeastern University. The dean and principal investigator will jointly exercise discretionary authority over fund distribution to address the lab's evolving needs and priorities.
